Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This role supports a Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across Main ED and Pediatric ED units.

We offer a 12-hour shift schedule with per diem work, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive team focused on holistic patient care.

Qualifications

• RN with at least one year of nursing experience.
• Licensure as RN in North Carolina; BLS for Healthcare Provider.
• ACLS, PALS, CPI, and TNCC certifications (facility training provided).

Responsibilities

• Education – identify learning needs and participate in education.
• Evaluation of Care – evaluate outcomes with interdisciplinary team.
• Implementation – manage care for complex patients and coordinate resources.
• Leadership – promote professional growth and intra/interdepartmental collaboration.
• Patient Assessment – determine priorities and discharge needs.
• Planning – prepare care plans with multidisciplinary teams.
• Research – review journals and discuss applicability with staff.
