Job summary

UNC Health Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, NC seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role provides 24/7 competent care to acute and life-threatening conditions, with self-scheduling options and opportunities for tuition reimbursement and clinical ladder advancement.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, you will coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting, including education, evaluation, and leadership activities

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education - participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs; uses patient education materials relevant to patient population.
• Evaluation of Care - identifies expected patient outcomes and participates in plan of care evaluation.
• Implementation - provides care for patients with complex problems and organizes care according to patient/family needs.
• Leadership - supports goals, facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration, and promotes safe care.
• Patient Assessment - recognizes data to determine care priorities and anticipates discharge needs.
• Planning - collaborates to update the plan of care with multidisciplinary resources.
• Research - reads journals and brings ideas to the staff for assessment.
