Job summary

Rio Grande Regional Hospital in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care in the ED. The role works with the care team to ensure timely assessments, treatments and documentation.

Candidates should have 1-2 years ED/FSED experience preferred, and be prepared to obtain ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and PALS within 30 days of start. ADN or BSN required with RN licensure.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days of start date.
• BLS within 30 days of start date.
• TNCC or equivalent course within 30 days.
• RN license in good standing.
• ADN or BSN required.
• 1–2 years ED/FSED experience preferred.
• PALS or equivalent course within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments as needed.
• Performs procedures and documents care in the patient record promptly.
• Responds to patient requests promptly and anticipates needs.
• Educates patients and families about condition, treatment, meds and follow-up.
• Teaches self-management and lifestyle changes for disease prevention.
