Job summary

Valley Regional Medical Center in Harlingen, TX is actively seeking a Registered Nurse for the Free Standing Emergency Department. You will coordinate and deliver patient-centered care in collaboration with providers and the care team, using established nursing models to improve outcomes and experiences.

Applicants should hold an RN license with a nursing degree (ASN/Bachelor’s) and 2+ years in an ED setting; ACLS/BCLS, TNCC, PALS, and pediatric ED coursework are required within specified

Qualifications

• ACLS and BCLS certifications required.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 1 year of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required.
• Licensed as an RN
• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years RN experience in an Emergency Department setting

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in the ED.
• Performs procedures and documents care in the medical record.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs.
• Educates patients/families/caregivers about condition, plan, meds, and follow-up.
• Educates on non-medicinal follow-up measures and self-management.
