Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in the Emergency Room to lead nursing care during shifts and partner with management to improve patient outcomes. You will influence care delivery and participate in hospital councils and nursing initiatives.

The CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care, supports staff development, and helps drive a patient-first culture within a busy ER environment.

Qualifications

• Nursing staff coordination and collaboration with management.
• Delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Acting as a resource for staff and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of quality of patient care services in the unit.
• Collaborates with managers to foster teamwork and improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and service recovery when needed.
• Operates nursing strategies (employee rounding, hourly rounds) to improve engagement.
• Provides input on interviewing, selection, training, and performance management.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management to meet patient care needs.
• Assists with inventory control and equipment management.
