Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital in South Carolina is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for the Emergency Department. In this role, you will lead nursing teams, coordinate patient care across shifts, and partner with management to uphold clinical standards and a positive patient experience.

You will drive throughput, participate in staff development, mentor new hires, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining a patient-first approach.

Qualifications

• Requires RN licensure in appropriate state(s) and/or compact license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma is required; BSN preferred.
• <1 year of applicable nursing experience is preferred; BLS/ACLS certifications must be current or obtained within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of quality of patient care in collaboration with management.
• Collaborates with managers to foster teamwork and improved patient outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when needed.
• Operates nursing strategies including staff rounding and hourly rounds to improve engagement.
• Gives input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff and handles performance actions as needed.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management in line with productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
