Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital seeks a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in the Emergency Room to lead and coordinate patient care across shifts. You will partner with the management team to direct nursing care, support staff, and uphold our commitment to exceptional patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• < 1 year applicable experience.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services.
• Collaborates with managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Operationalizes nursing strategies to improve engagement (e.g., rounds, hourly rounds).
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, training, and staff development, and may handle disciplinary actions as needed.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor in line with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
