Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado is seeking experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RNs to support care across ED and other acute units. In this role you’ll perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians, trauma teams and nurses to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Required: BSN, active RN license, BLS, 1 year ED/acute care experience; compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days; 36-hour

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice with compact licenses transferable within 60 days.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain BSN within four years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and clinical standards.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Support a culture of teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
