Job summary

Intermountain Health's Lutheran Hospital Emergency Department in Wheat Ridge, Colorado is seeking experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RNs to support fast-paced, high-acuity care across units. In this role you will perform rapid assessments, collaborate with physicians and care teams, educate patients and families, and adapt to variable workloads while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Eligible candidates hold a BSN, RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of ED or acute care

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice; compact licenses must be transferred within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and clinical standards.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Support a culture of teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
