Job summary

Henrico Doctors Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care on the Emergency Department unit. The CNC will guide staff, coordinate nursing care, and support operational goals during the shift.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree (BSN preferred), Virginia RN license, and credentials (ACLS/BCLS/PALS/NRP). ER experience and leadership skills are essential to improve outcomes and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Current VA RN license or compact multistate license.
• ACLS, BCLS, PALS, NRP within required timeframes.
• 1 year of emergency room experience.
• Ability to collaborate with management and staff.
• Demonstrates patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Assist admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality, patient-centered care.
• Participates in ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Supports nursing strategies, including hourly rounds and other initiatives, to improve engagement.
• Provides recommendations on interviewing, selecting, and training staff and on performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assists with staff scheduling and labor management in accordance with patient care needs.
• Supports inventory control and supplies management.
