Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to support patient care in a fast-paced ED under RN supervision. You will assist with vital signs, procedures, specimen collection, and patient comfort in a safe, team-based environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of direct patient contact (PCA/MA/EMT), a high school diploma or GED, and BLS certification, plus Violence Prevention (AVADE).

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of direct patient care as PCA/MA/EMT or equivalent.
• BLS certification required; Violence Prevention AVADE certification.
• Basic computer skills and clinical documentation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical care as directed by the RN under Ohio Nursing guidelines.
• Measures and records vital signs and intake/output.
• Collects specimens and ensures proper processing.
• Performs phlebotomy, IVs, and catheter care as instructed.
• Provides patient comfort, hygiene and nutrition support.
• Maintains safety while handling equipment and monitoring risks.
• Assists with procedures and unit clerical tasks as needed.
• Responds to emergencies and supports team during Code events.
