Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network seeks an Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to support patient comfort and safety in a fast-paced ED. Under RN supervision, you perform clinical tasks and ensure care in alignment with Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines.

This role includes vital signs, phlebotomy, IVs, wound care, EKGs, iStat/Biosite testing, specimen handling and patient transport, with CPI training and BLS certification to maintain a safe, compassionate environment for all patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years direct patient care experience in hospital or first responder setting.
• Completion of basic life support and related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical care tasks delegated by RN per Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines.
• Assists with vital signs, phlebotomy, IVs and wound care.
• Operates and interprets bedside testing devices as ordered (iSTAT, Biosite, Clinitek).
• Transports patients and assists with comfort and safety in ED.
