Fresno City College invites applications for a part-time Sociology Instructor Pool to meet ongoing needs. The instructor will teach Sociology courses in a variety of formats, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid, and will use inclusive teaching practices.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate commitment to equity, work effectively with a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population, and support student success through collaborative engagement with faculty and staff.

Qualifications

• Evidence of responsiveness to diverse student populations and equity-minded practices.
• Master’s degree in sociology.
• Bachelor’s in sociology plus Master’s in anthropology or related fields.
• Valid California Community College Credential or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Teach a part-time schedule of Sociology courses as assigned.
• Use diverse pedagogies and technology for face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Maintain course outlines, syllabi, and course objectives.
• Evaluate student progress with tests, assignments, and exams.
• Provide course syllabi to students and timely grading reports.
• Fulfill duties as required by Administrative Regulation 7122 and related tasks.
