Job summary

Fresno City College is seeking a Counseling Instructor to join its part-time faculty pool. The role involves teaching Counseling courses across face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats, with a focus on equity-minded student success and collaboration with faculty and staff.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to serving a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population and contribute to program review, SLO development, and assessment to improve student learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling; or a valid California Community College Credential; or the equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Responsibilities

• Teaching a part-time schedule of Counseling courses as assigned.
• Using a variety of pedagogies and integrating a wide range of instructional delivery systems including online and hybrid formats.
• Communicating effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Adhering to approved curriculum outlines of record.
• Evaluating student progress through tests, assignments, and exams.
• Providing course syllabi to students.
• Maintaining classroom records per District Policy.
• Turning in required grading and evaluation reports in a timely manner.
• Participating in program review and student learning outcome development.
• Teaching in various settings and times, including evenings and weekends, online or off-campus as needed.
• Fulfilling duties as required by Administrative Regulation 7122.
