Job summary

Fresno City College is seeking a part-time Physical Education Instructor to teach a flexible schedule of Physical Education courses. The instructor will engage students with diverse pedagogies, including online and hybrid formats, and collaborate with faculty and staff to support student success.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate equity-minded practice and a commitment to serving a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population and will participate in professional development

Qualifications

• Master’s in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise or adaptive physical education; or
• Bachelor’s in any of the above and Master’s in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration or physical therapy; or
• A valid California Community College Credential; or
• The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency).

Responsibilities

• Teach a part-time schedule of Physical Education courses as assigned.
• Use a variety of pedagogies and diverse instructional delivery methods including online, face-to-face, and hybrid formats.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Adhere to approved curriculum outlines and course objectives; evaluate student progress through tests, assignments and exams.
• Provide course syllabi and maintain accurate records; submit grading and evaluations timely.
• Teach across various instructional settings and times, including adjunct assignments as needed.
