Job summary

Independence Equine and Small Animal Clinic in the United States is seeking a full-time Equine Veterinary Technician / Receptionist hybrid. The role combines client service with hands-on horse care and medical support, including lameness exams, radiographs, ultrasound, surgery, and hospitalized patient care.

You’ll greet clients, schedule farm calls, pull histories, share test results, and assist veterinarians on treatments and procedures.

Qualifications

• Equine or large animal veterinary technician experience required/preferred.
• Licensure welcomed but not required.
• Comfort handling horses, including safe restraint, loading and unloading.
• Working knowledge of common equine diseases, vaccines, medications and preventive care.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients, answer phones and voicemails, and schedule appointments in Avimark.
• Prepare horses and assist veterinarians during exams, radiographs, surgery and labor
• Share test results and discharge instructions with clients.
• Prepare, track, and document Coggins tests and health certificates.
• Enter charges and medical notes, process statements, and scan records.
• Assist with farm calls, lameness exams, and in-house lab work.
