Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking an AFO Consultant - Equine to deliver outsourced accounting and advisory services for Equine clients. You will work under Senior Consultants and Directors, completing month-end close activities and preparing financial reports across multiple entities and operations.

You will review work, provide feedback, and help maintain accurate records while expanding understanding of horse farm activities and related reporting needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2–3 years of progressive accounting or outsourced accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close, GL, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Experience serving multiple clients or entities preferred.
• Experience with horse farms, equine operations, or related ownership structures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned month-end close activities and coordinate full close under review.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
• Review recurring accounting functions and provide clear feedback.
• Perform financial analysis including variance, trend, and budgets.
• Support Equine client onboarding and chart of accounts setup.
• Record and reconcile horse-related assets, revenue, and expenses.
