UCI Health in Irvine, CA, invites applications for a senior role leading the development, upgrade, and support of clinical information systems. You will independently manage large Epic OpTime/Anesthesia modules and participate in data communication design to improve patient care workflows.

The position requires expert knowledge of Epic EMR, HL7 interfaces, and strong communication skills to coordinate with hospital and ambulatory settings.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of perioperative workflows.
• Understanding of Work Flow Engine Rule and Order Transmittal.
• Understanding of Epic User Security.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must have working knowledge of client/server systems, relational database structures and reporting tools.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer.
• Minimum three (3) years of Epic OpTime / Anesthesia build experience.
• Experience working with Epic EMR and its various modules.
• Experience using/implementing/supporting an EMR in a hospital and/or ambulatory setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Ability self-initiate and effectively problem solve issues.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to function as a project leader and project member.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution.
