Epic EMR Clinical Applications Lead

Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine, CA seeks a technical leader in clinical applications to guide medium to large EpicCare Inpatient projects. You will apply extensive industry knowledge to lead initiatives, mentor teams, and ensure successful EMR deployments across inpatient and ambulatory settings.

The role requires in-depth EpicCare/Inpatient experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage on-call rotations and complex workflows within a major academic health system.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of inpatient workflows.
• Understanding of clinical issues and medical terminology.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations.
• Independent problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
• Experience using/implementing/supporting an EMR in a hospital and/or ambulatory setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in one-to-one and group settings.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Current EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation certification
• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Computer Science, related field, or relevant work experience
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to lead others and provide effective work guidance
• Ability to function as a project leader and project member
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
• Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution
• 3-5 years if experience implementing/supporting EpicCare Inpatient or other Epic applications

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or contribute on medium to large clinical applications projects.
• Provide expert guidance on EpicCare Inpatient implementations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the health system.
