Job summary

OtterBase, Inc. is seeking an Epic Principal Trainer / Instructional Designer with HIM experience for a long-term contract, offering remote work from the US (Eastern time zone). You will design Epic HIM training curricula, develop materials, and deliver training to clinical and operational staff.

You will collaborate with Epic analysts and leaders, maintain training environments, and mentor trainers, turning complex HIM workflows into clear, audience-appropriate content.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in Epic training, instructional design, clinical systems education, or healthcare IT training.
• Strong hands-on experience developing and delivering Epic curriculum.
• Experience with Epic HIM workflows.
• Owns the instructional design process and translates complex workflows into clear training content for different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Epic training curriculum and materials for assigned HIM areas.
• Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and classroom training to clinical and operational users.
• Create lesson plans, exercises, tip sheets, and job aids.
• Keep training environments and materials current as Epic workflows change.
• Partner with Epic analysts, operational and clinical leaders, and subject matter experts.
• Support implementations, upgrades, optimizations, and workflow changes.
• Mentor trainers and teammates as needed.
