Job summary

The College of Charleston seeks an Assistant Director of Equal Opportunity Programs to lead investigations, provide intake guidance, and coordinate discrimination-related matters. You will ensure compliance with federal and state nondiscrimination laws, including Title VI, VII, IX, and ADA/Section 504, in a higher-education setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience; a juris doctorate is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and relevant professional experience in compliance, investigations, human resources (employee conduct), student conduct, civil rights, or a related field.
• Experience independently conducting fact-finding interviews, evaluating evidence, and managing deadlines.
• Higher-education experience and a juris doctorate are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional work related to compliance with nondiscrimination laws; conducts impartial investigations; provides intake guidance and case coordination.
• Manages EEO recruitment compliance and required reporting; develops training resources and process improvements.
• Independently handles matters from intake through closure; conducts interviews and gathers evidence; prepares objective written reports.
