Job summary

City of New York’s Division of Transportation Planning and Management (TPM) seeks a Civil Engineer 2/Environmental Review Borough Lead to guide multi-disciplinary teams through CEQR/SEQR/NEPA studies and traffic analyses. You will oversee staff, manage interagency coordination, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables for city mobility projects.

The role requires a NY PE license and 4+ years of civil engineering experience, with a Master’s degree able to substitute for one year.

Qualifications

• Four years of full-time civil engineering experience.
• New York State Professional Engineer license must be maintained throughout employment.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience with CEQR/SEQR/NEPA and related manuals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental review and traffic engineering studies on complex transportation projects.
• Supervise technical staff and coordinate with interagency partners.
• Prepare written reports and graphics for presentations and meetings.
• Assist senior staff with design reviews and field work as needed.
