Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is hiring an Environmental Technician in the United States (Alabama). You will join a team responsible for consolidating, treating, storing, transporting and disposing of hazardous waste in compliance with environmental regulations.

The role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds and operating forklifts. The position supports outdoor and indoor work in varying climates with PPE provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds throughout the workday.
• Stand and walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods.
• Visual acuity to read labels; depth perception to drive forklifts.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Willingness to wear PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with regulations and policies.
• Operate a forklift and move containers to storage, treatment areas and trailers.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely per regulations and customer policies.
