Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is hiring Environmental Technicians in North Carolina. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, operating a forklift, and handling hazardous waste in outdoor and indoor settings. Training will cover regulatory compliance and safe handling of materials.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk over uneven surfaces for extended periods.
• Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts.
• Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions.
• Willingness to wear PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Operate forklift and move containers to and from storage and treatment areas and to load/unload trailers.
• Work as part of a team of professionals to support environmental compliance.
