Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking an Environmental Technician to join a team focused on safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste. You will learn environmental regulations and, once trained, consolidate, treat, store, transport and/or dispose of hazardous waste following procedures.

You will lift up to 50 pounds, operate a forklift, and complete documents accurately. The role requires outdoor work in all climates and indoor work in non-climate-controlled spaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Stand and walk on uneven surfaces for long periods.
• Visual acuity to read labels; depth perception for forklifts.
• Hearing vehicle warning chimes and alarms.
• Outdoor work in all climates and indoor non-climate-controlled work.
• Willingness to wear PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, respirator.

Responsibilities

• Learn environmental regulations and hazardous material handling.
• Consolidate, treat, store, transport and dispose of hazardous waste per procedures.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment to move containers to storage and treatment areas.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
