Job summary

Benesch is seeking an entry-level Environmental Scientist to assist project managers with natural resources projects, including wetlands, endangered species, and water resource permitting. The ideal candidate will be organized, able to multitask, and communicate effectively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and initiative.

Primary duties involve office or remote office work with occasional fieldwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or Environmental Sciences with 1–4 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in technical writing and QA/QC of data and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork tasks such as wetlands delineations and environmental surveys.
• Provide technical support for permit compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Be prepared for frequent travel, including overnight stays within and outside the state.
• Assist project managers with various tasks to ensure project success.
• Manage project schedules and budgets to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Contribute to project proposals and collaborate with team members.
• Stay updated on federal and regional regulations.
• Build relationships with agencies and represent Benesch as a subject matter expert.
• Promote safety awareness and professionalism in the workplace.
