Job summary

Stantec is seeking a talented environmental professional to manage natural resource assessment and permitting projects in the Southeast. You will lead field surveys, coordinate regulatory submittals, and build strong client relationships while guiding project teams through all phases.

The role emphasizes leadership, meteorology, and experience coordinating with agencies such as USACE, FERC, and USFWS. Travel of about 25% and field activities in diverse environments are expected.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in an environmental discipline (biology, ecology, natural resources, soil science or related field).
  • Experience of 15–20 years of experience with biological surveys and project management in the southeastern United States.
  • Professional Wetland Scientists (PWS), Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB), Certified Ecologist, Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), or Certified Fisheries Professional (CFP). TN QHP or PMP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and project management support on environmental planning, assessment, and permitting projects.
  • Manage all project stages from conception to completion including cost estimates, budgeting, and scheduling; coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and staff.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships and seek new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate environmental field surveys including wetland and water delineations, vegetation inventories, and wildlife surveys.
  • Coordinate and review regulatory submittals (NEPA, CWA, Endangered Species Act, state-level permitting).
  • Support Health, Safety and Environment policies and training for project work.
  • Mentor and train team members; ensure proper technical oversight of projects.
  • Build networks within the technical team and multiple Stantec Business Centers.
