Job summary

Stantec is seeking a mid-level Environmental Scientist/Ecologist to lead field surveys, report writing and permitting support across the Tennessee/Kentucky southeast region. The role includes travel up to 75% and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of biologists, ecologists and NEPA specialists.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s in an environmental field and 5–10 years leading field inventories, with experience in wetlands, habitat assessments, GIS mapping, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, natural resources or related field with regional survey experience.
• 5–10 years leading field teams in natural resource inventories and surveys.
• Experience with WOUS delineations, permitting and NEPA is preferred.
• Understanding of environmental regulations and impact analysis methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams conducting wetlands delineations, wildlife surveys and habitat characterizations.
• Coordinate agency communications and guide project teams to successful execution.
• Support permitting at local, state and federal levels including USACE coordination.
• Prepare portions of written reports, tables, spreadsheets and maps for review.
• Support GPS data collection, processing and mapping; utilize ArcGIS online.
