Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Engineer or Geologist for geoscience and environmental site characterization/remediation projects serving government and private clients. The role is based in the Reston, VA area and offers a hybrid work model to balance office and field responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and field teams.
• Experience leading teams toward common goals.
• 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or ability to attain.
• United States Citizenship.
• Ability to work in the Reston, VA area.

Responsibilities

• Design, perform, or oversee soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water investigations.
• Build teams of colleagues and subcontractors and manage fieldwork logistics.
• Analyze and interpret data; write technical reports and present findings to clients and regulators.
• Participate in client and regulator meetings; ensure safety and compliance.
