Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Regulatory Specialist in Virginia to provide technical regulatory support for energy projects. You will develop deliverables, manage task execution, and support project management within a nationwide environmental services team.

The role requires experience with multiple environmental statutes, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with clients and agencies across time zones. A bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, licensing, and permitting within the utility sector.
• Strong communication, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
• Experience coordinating with clients, agencies, and internal staff to meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements and complete desktop reviews.
• Coordinate state, federal, and local approvals and prepare final submittals.
• Prepare environmental permit applications and manage documentation with agencies.
