Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. seeks a Regulatory Specialist to join its Environmental Services team in the North American energy sector. You will provide regulatory support, develop deliverables, manage tasks, and help secure permitting across multiple jurisdictions.

With a network of over 1,400 professionals, you’ll collaborate with clients and stakeholders to advance energy projects from concept through completion while upholding safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Planning, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Project and task management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Environmental regulatory and permitting responsibilities: identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate state, federal, and local government approvals, including studies and final submittals.
• Prepare environmental permit applications and coordinating comment responses with agencies.
• Write and review technical reports and permit applications.
• Support public outreach, including project literature and mailings to landowners.
• Attend public meetings and assist in project management and budgeting.
• On-boarding and managing sub-consultants; coordinate with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure QA/QC and Health and Safety requirements throughout the project life cycle.
• Travel as needed to accommodate different time zones and evening meetings.
