The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) in Tallahassee seeks an Environmental Specialist II to oversee hazardous waste site rehabilitation projects, contract scopes, and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate with DEP districts and private contractors to ensure environmental effectiveness and adherence to NCP, CERCLA/SARA, and state rules.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans, approving invoices, and providing guidance to junior staff while maintaining safety standards

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EPA and DEP rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Skill in evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting scientific/technical data.
• Skill in writing technical comment letters clearly and concisely.

Responsabilités

• Oversee site rehabilitation activities for State Lead and Drycleaning Solvent Cleanup Program sites, contracting out work as needed.
• Review scopes of work, cost estimates, and contractor invoices; coordinate with other sections and agencies.
• Manage contract oversight documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
