Job description

Loureiro Engineering Associates is seeking a Project Manager to join our Environmental team in Connecticut.

The Project Manager is responsible for providing overall technical and financial direction on projects, ensuring the client receives the designs, reports, and opinions specified in their contract. They may oversee multiple projects simultaneously and participate in marketing the firm’s services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in bringing work into the firm through marketing strategies.
  • Assemble project teams for proposals.
  • Estimate fees accurately and effectively for proposals.
  • Make major project design decisions in consultation with the client.
  • Check the accuracy of completed work and serve as the primary client contact.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Oversee construction efforts if applicable.
  • Supervise staff, including performance reviews and recommendations for advancement.
  • Obtain client authorizations before proceeding and adhere to budgets.
  • Ensure project milestones are met, prioritize safety, and promote safety culture among staff.
  • Review project performance and estimates to ensure budget adherence.
  • Lead project staff to understand the business aspects of projects with enthusiasm.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of physical environment factors like landforms and topography.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective technical skills.
  • Teamwork capabilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge and Experience:
  • B.S. in Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 8-10 years’ experience in project development within relevant expertise.
  • Experience with Phase I, II, and III site investigations, remediation planning, and execution.
  • Knowledge of CT RSR, MA MCP, CERCLA, RCRA, and/or TSCA regulations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged sitting and working on a computer.
  • Lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Operate office equipment and keyboards.
  • Push, pull, and place materials on various surfaces.
  • Work in different weather conditions and terrains.
  • Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment.
