Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an Environmental Principal to lead and expand our environmental and EHS consulting services across the Central Region. This senior seller-doer role combines technical leadership with business development to grow a national client book.

You will leverage industry relationships, deliver senior technical guidance, and help shape proposals, scopes, and fees while collaborating with a national platform and diverse services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, EHS, or related field.
• 15+ years in environmental consulting, EHS, or related industry with leadership.
• 7+ years in business development, winning work and expanding client relationships.
• Established network of national or multi-market clients.

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic growth of environmental and EHS services in the Central Region.
• Maintain a strong book of business and pursue new clients and markets.
• Serve as trusted client advisor, linking challenges to practical EHS solutions.
• Lead sales meetings, client presentations, and proposal development.
• Cross-sell Apex environmental, EHS, water, and related services.
• Provide senior-level technical leadership and QA/QC on projects.
