Job summary

Stantec is seeking a GIS Technician / Geospatial Analyst to join our Environmental Services team in the Mid-Atlantic region. You will support mapping, spatial analysis, and data management within an ESRI Enterprise environment, collaborating with a large group of GIS professionals.

The role emphasizes delivering GIS products for environmental projects, adhering to cartographic standards, and assisting with field data collection using ArcGIS Online, Survey123, and Field Maps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geoscience, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 1–3 years of professional GIS experience preferred.
• Experience delivering GIS products for environmental assessments is a plus.
• Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS suite (ArcGIS Pro, AGO) and related tools.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Compile, create, and maintain spatial and non-spatial data for ESRI ArcGIS platforms.
• Produce thematic maps and data summaries to support multidisciplinary projects.
• Prepare web maps, dashboards, and manage data for field survey crews (Survey123, Field Maps, AGO).
• Support geospatial field data collection (wetlands, waterways, species occurrences).
• Adhere to cartographic standards and QA/QC processes.
• Manage project-specific geospatial data per data management standards.
• Collaborate with GIS staff across offices and report to the Mid-Atlantic Geospatial Team Lead.
