Job summary

Stantec is seeking a GIS Technician / Geospatial Analyst to join our Environmental Services Geospatial team in the Mid-Atlantic region. You will support mapping, spatial analysis, and map production for internal and external clients within an ESRI Enterprise environment.

The role involves preparing web maps, dashboards, and managing data for field survey teams using Survey123, Field Maps, and ArcGIS Online, with a focus on wetlands, waterways, and species occurrences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in GIS, Geography, Geoscience, Environmental Science, or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework.
• 1–3 years of professional GIS services preferred; recent graduates considered.
• Experience delivering GIS products/analytical solutions for environmental assessments or site assessments is an asset.
• Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software, especially ArcGIS Pro and AGO, and knowledge of cartography principles.

Responsibilities

• Compile, create and maintain spatial and non-spatial information using ESRI ArcGIS software.
• Produce custom thematic maps and carry out data analyses to support multidisciplinary deliverables.
• Prepare web maps, dashboards, and manage data for field survey crews (Survey123, Field Maps, AGO).
• Support geospatial field data collection (wetlands, waterways, species occurrences).
• Adhere to cartographic standards and QA/QC processes.
• Manage project-specific geospatial data per data management standards.
• Collaborate with GIS staff and report to the Mid-Atlantic Geospatial Team Lead.
