Job summary

Stantec in California is seeking a Geologist, Environmental Scientist, or Environmental Engineer to perform environmental assessments, hazardous material surveys, hydrogeological studies, and subsurface investigations, including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling, field oversight, and deliverable preparation.

The role requires five years of hands-on project experience, strong technical writing, and ability to work with engineers, inspectors, and regulators in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• California licensure or certification such as PG/GIT/PE/EIT preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Minimum 5–6 years related experience in environmental projects.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in office and field environments.
• OSHA HAZWOPER 40 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in soil assessment and mapping projects from proposal to completion.
• Assist with environmental permitting responsibilities and permit applications.
• Prepare Phase I/II ESAs, progress reports, work plans, sampling and analysis plans, and technical memoranda.
• Conduct field activities including sampling and inspections with subcontractors.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and laboratories; provide field and technical support.
