Job summary

American Engineering Testing (AET) seeks an Environmental Field Scientist to perform hands-on field activities, including site investigations, sampling programs, field monitoring, and data collection—focusing on asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and industrial hygiene services.

Under general supervision, you will operate field instruments, document observations, and support environmental projects in soil, groundwater, and due diligence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Earth Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in environmental consulting or related field (internship preferred).
• Knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, CWA beneficial.
• Ability to obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER within one month of hire.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; GIS/AutoCAD familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, stormwater, air, and other media following established procedures.
• Support installation of monitoring wells and drilling oversight.
• Perform asbestos sampling and inspections in support of environmental and due diligence projects.
• Record field measurements and observations with complete, accurate notes.
• Assist with GPS/GIS data collection and site map preparation using ArcGIS.
