Job summary

Clean Harbors in Bristol, CT is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste at customer sites and plants, indoors and outdoors.

This entry-level management track offers robust training and opportunities to advance within Clean Harbors, potentially moving into salaried management after 18–36 months. A valid driver's license is required, and CDL hazmat may be required within six months.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of employment may be required.
• Schedule: Monday-Friday; two Saturdays per month availability.
• Background check, drug test, and physical may be required.
• Respiratory protection standards compliance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifest, and disposal notifications.
• Inspect staging, storage areas for housekeeping and compliance.
• Inspect drums for leaks, spills, and labeling compliance.
• Package waste chemicals properly for disposal.
• Conduct projects at customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies.
• Ensure all projects comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies.
• Operate vehicles safely per DOT and local regulations.
• Follow local, state, and federal regulations and health and safety plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
