Job summary

Clean Harbors in Bristol, CT seeks an Environmental Field Chemist (CleanPack Chemist CDL) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste per regulations. This customer-facing role operates at plants, labs, and customer sites, with lab packs and HHW collections involved.

Entry-level management pathway offered with comprehensive training. Pay rate at $25.00 per hour, with full benefits after 30 days of full-time employment and 401K with company match.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented role requiring direct interaction with clients.
• Ability to perform physical tasks and operate safely in varied environments.
• CDL Class B preferred with potential to obtain hazmat/tanker endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe work practices.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and disposal notifications.
• Inspect storage areas, drums, and labeling for compliance and safety.
• Package waste chemicals for disposal at customer sites and facilities.
• Execute jobs at customer locations and ensure compliant project completion.
• Conduct site-specific regulatory compliance and health & safety plan adherence.
• Understand disposal restrictions and specific packaging requirements.
• Sample and profile new waste streams requiring analysis.
• Ensure drum counts and shipping readiness per company policies.
• Operate vehicles per DOT and local regulations.
• Follow corporate operating guidelines and safety protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
