Job summary

Clean Harbors in Chester, VA is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist CDL (CleanPack Chemist) to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste in accordance with regulations. This is a customer-facing role working at customer sites daily, with duties including HHW collections and lab moves.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license and CDL Class B are required.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work at customer sites.
• Ability to perform physical functions and pass background checks/physical.

Responsibilities

• Handle, segregate, pack, and inspect chemical waste following regulations.
• Prepare packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions.
• Inspect storage areas, drums, and labeling for compliance.
• Package waste chemicals safely for disposal and ship to customers.
• Operate at customer sites and support lab packs and HHW collections.
• Follow OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies; ensure health and safety compliance.
• Travel to Clean Harbors customer locations and assist with projects as needed.
• Opportunity for progression into salary management roles after training.
