Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Chicago, IL is seeking an Engineering Intern to support the Environmental Services market. You will assist lead engineers with design tasks, data collection, and presentations across infrastructure projects.

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering (ABET preferred) with strong written and verbal communication. A 3.0+ GPA and campus or community involvement are favored. This paid internship offers a full-time schedule with hands-on experience and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions and support lead engineers on project duties.
• Participate in data collection and analysis to support improvements.
• Present solutions to concerns and research project issues.
• Support ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
