Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Chicago is seeking an Engineering Intern to work with our teams and support engineering projects across the department, global practice or regional office. You will apply standard engineering techniques, assist lead engineers, and help with project duties.

Assignments span Environmental Services, Power, Transportation, Transmission & Distribution and Water, offering exposure to design, data analysis and continuous improvement while complying with policies.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Performs other duties as assigned; comply with policies and standards.
