Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern to support project teams in environmental services across municipal, state, and federal client work. The role focuses on standard engineering tasks, data collection, and presenting solutions while learning from lead engineers.

Applicants should be working toward a BS in Environmental Science or related field with strong communications, problem-solving, and an eagerness to grow in the consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field from a recognized, accredited program required.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
