Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Kansas City, MO. You will apply standard engineering techniques to support design, correction and updates of engineering systems, and assist lead engineers on various project duties.

This hands-on internship exposes you to multiple market sectors including Global Facilities, Oil, Gas & Chemical, and Power. We value strong communication, analytical thinking and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties and updates to designs.
• Support design of engineering systems and corrections as needed.
• Contribute across market segments (Global Facilities, Oil, Gas & Chemical, Power).
