Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an Environmental Engineer Manager in the Northeast Regional Office, Clean Water. You will oversee the Permits Section, reviewing water quality and wastewater treatment plans, developing effluent limits, and guiding technical staff.

Qualifications

• Two years as an Environmental Engineer or five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or project development, design or construction.
• Valid Professional Engineer license (PA or another state) is required.
• Valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
• Must possess REAL ID or passport for employment.
• PA residency requirement is waived for this title.
• Veterans' preference applies where eligible.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Permits Section with supervision of staff and assignment of work to ensure quality engineering evaluations.
• Review and evaluate applications, plans, and technical documents related to water quality and wastewater systems.
• Develop water quality and effluent limits using modeling tools and engineering standards.
• Prepare draft permits, review comments, support hearings, and make permit recommendations.
• Manage workflow, SOPs, and track permit activities using required systems.
• Provide technical guidance and respond to inquiries from applicants and partners.
