Qualifications

• One year of experience in environmental engineering or possess an Engineer-in-Training certificate.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or in any engineering field with 9 credits in environmental engineering.
• Applicants may be within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Responsibilities

• Permit Review: Examine applications for wastewater discharge and Clean Streams Law permits for compliance.
• Plan Evaluation: Analyze plans and specifications for sewer systems, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
• Stormwater Oversight: Track submissions and review materials for combined sewer systems and municipal programs.
• Policy Communication: Provide information on department policies, procedures, permits, and water protection standards.
• Data Management: Input and update information in electronic systems for accuracy.
• Issue Resolution: Identify challenges in permit materials and suggest solutions to supervisors.
