Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Environmental Protection Compliance Specialist in Norristown to advance enforcement actions and ensure regulatory compliance across water programs. Qualifications

• One year of professional experience as a Sanitarian, Air Quality Specialist, Solid Waste Specialist, or Water Quality Specialist (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training which affords the applicant the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Enforcement Preparation: Prepare violation notices, orders, agreements, and supporting documentation for enforcement actions
• Case Coordination: Coordinate compliance strategies with attorneys, regional offices, and program staff to resolve violations
• Technical Guidance: Train and assist Water Quality Specialists in preparing documents and conducting enforcement activities
• Data Management: Input and verify compliance data in statewide systems and support regional tracking efforts
• Policy Review: Evaluate proposed enforcement policies and provide feedback on strategies and procedures
• Public Communication: Prepare information for news releases and respond to inquiries from operators, officials, and the public
