Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Environmental Protection, Northcentral Regional Office, Air Quality Program in Williamsport, seeks an Environmental Engineer Manager to lead complex air quality permit reviews and regulatory decisions. You will supervise staff, evaluate submissions, and ensure adherence to air quality standards.

Full-time role with work hours 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, occasional travel, and telework up to three days per week.

Qualifications

Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer.
Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development, design or construction.
Valid Professional Engineer license (PA or other state).
Valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license.

Responsibilities

Program Oversight: Manage the implementation of air quality permit programs across the region.
Staff Guidance: Supervise engineering teams as they review applications and assess compliance.
Technical Evaluation: Review detailed engineering submissions and ensure alignment with regulatory standards.
Public Engagement: Communicate permitting requirements to applicants and community members.
Regulatory Actions: Support enforcement activities by providing technical advice and recommendations.
