Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is hiring an Environmental Engineer to join the Carlin Environmental Team. You will manage land disturbance and permitting, plus reclamation and biodiversity projects, ensuring regulatory compliance with Plans of Operations and Biodiversity Program.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate within a diverse team. The role supports a safe, responsible mining culture and sustainable community relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a physical/biological science, natural resource management, environmental engineering, or related field.
• Strong project management skills and ability to work in a team.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to operate a light vehicle in varying conditions.
• Occasional after-hours on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Manage site reclamation permits, regulatory reporting, and cost estimate models.
• Ensure compliance with Plans of Operations and land management obligations.
• Develop and execute reclamation and closure plans per regulatory requirements.
• Oversee Biodiversity Program activities like surveys, riparian restoration, and wildlife management.
• Support Plan of Operations amendments and NEPA permitting actions.
• Build strong relationships with Federal/State authorities to communicate monitoring results.
• Assist with training NGM employees and contractors.
• Responsible for after-hours on-call environmental incident response.
• Other duties as assigned.
